Moms + Tattoos = Scripture Memory Made Easy!

If you’ve seen Moms Night Out you might have been surprised at the numerous fun (funny!) scenes set inside of a tattoo parlor. Personally, I’ve never wanted to get a tattoo.

1. I don’t like pain.

2. There isn’t any image or phrase that I like enough to have it permanently applied to my body!

But I do love these new temporary tattoos from http://www.ArmedwithTruth.com/

Here is the first tattoo I wore. It stayed perfect for about four days, and I memorized it! Dozens and dozens of times a day this Scripture would catch my attention and draw me to God’s truth. <–very cool!

Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see! <–What could be a more wonderful truth than that to be drawn to numerous times a day.

This is the Scripture verse I’m memorizing now:

Give thanks to the Lord, because He is good. His faithful love continues forever!

I’m pretty much hooked on these temporary tattoos. I’ve memorized two verses in a week. Now I have NO excuse for not memorizing Scripture.

    I had other favorites before my 21 yo daughter died, but this is my favorite now: “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” – 2 Cor. 1:3-4

    My favorite Scriptures are the following passage:

    “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; . . . The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plentous in mercy . . . He hath not dealt with us after our sins; nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him” (Psalm 103:2-4, 8-11).

    Kind of lengthy and fragmented, but I LOVE this passage. It speaks to me about my teen and young adult years and makes me feel SO grateful for the mercy and grace of God that I do not deserve.

    No need to enter me in the drawing, Tricia. 🙂 It’d probably scare my husband if I started wearing tattoos…lol.

    I have tattoos and I love this. What a great way to memorize verses.

    When I went in to have my daughter I wrote parts of Psalm 61:2 + 4 down my arm to focus on His grace and protection instead of my fear.

    I love this idea. I’ve been toying with the idea of getting a tattoo on my wrist as a proclamation of my devotion to Jesus. But I hate needles too.

    Not sure which verse I’d apply, but my two life verses are:

    Zep. 3:17 “The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” AND

    John 6:67-68 “You do not want to leave too, do you?” Jesus asked the Twelve. Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.”

    What an awesome product and giveaway. I have never been good at memorizing scripture.

    My favorite verse is Ephesians 4:32 “Be kind and compassionate, tenderhearted, forgiving each other as God forgave you.”

    My favorites are Jeremiah 29:11 and Phil 4:4… I love this idea! Definitely be able to take scripture with me wherever I go!

    This is so awesome! I’m working on memorizing scripture and I never thought of doing it this way! This is one of my favorite verses! God is good!
    Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. (2 Corinthians 12:9 NLT)

    This is such a great idea! Awhile ago, I wrote out verses on note cards to take around with me so I could memorize…but having a verse on my arm would definitely keep it in the front of my mind…
    Philippians 4:6-7 is my life line…my peace bath in times of struggle!
    6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

      This is also my most used verse. I whispered/cried/prayed it continually from the time my nurses finally believed me that my baby was breech until my doctor came in and said I could go ahead and deliver him normally. The Peace was so helpful and needed then. 🙂

    I just put Romans 12:12 {Got it while at Raising Generations Today} on yesterday…loving it!

    My favorite verse is “For with God nothing shall be impossible.” Luke 1:37

    My favorite _ For me to LIVE is Christ. Philippians 1:21

    both grandgirls write scripture on their arms for softball games…the 11 year old like Tim.4:19 I think and the 13 is always delivering something…this week she bought all the girls and coaches metal softball gloves with a scripture on the back. they would love these tats that are temporary of a Word that is forever…

    That is definitely a fun concept! I could see it working well with some of the kids in my church as well! As far as my favorite verse I have a few that I love but I think that I have to go with, Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. That’s my go to scripture for whenever I start to doubt the things God calls me to do.

    My favorite scripture because of the circumstance I’m in in right now is Jeremiah 29:11 for I know the plans I have for,” declares The Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

    God tells us to hold on to His promises and this is one I cling on to.

    My favorite verse is
    Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, (Hebrews 12:1 NIV)
    I teach run for God at my church and it reminds me and my students whether were physically running or spiritually running, that we must keep running our race!

    My favorite verse is Jeremiah 9:11. Many times when I’ve questioned events in my life and how they could possibly turn out for good, God has brought this verse to my mind and reminds me that everything that happens to me is part of His plan for my life and will turn out for my benefit.

    Lamentations 3:22-23
    Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

    I have a few tattoos, itching for more. 🙂 This though… the most amazing idea I’ve seen in a long time. Writing it on a notecard that gets lost in my purse is frustrating. This though, always right there.

    My heart verse right now is Romans 15:13:
    I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.
