My guest for #WALKITOUT 001 is my daughter Maria Goyer. John and I met Maria two and a half years ago when we were interested in adopting a sibling group from foster care. Maria is the oldest of the four girls that we adopted. She has been such a blessing in our lives. She is our scientist artist girl, so she will take things apart, put them back together, and design stuff, draw pictures and create stuff. We are super proud of her and she exciting things in her future!

I just wanted to have Maria on the show to chat about foster care and what it was like to be raised in foster care.

You can listen to the show below!
And of course, I would love if you would share with your friends.

How did she do going into homeschool?
Do u write more about the hard times and the counseling?
I am praying about this! I’d love to be a family for someone who wanted one!
I feel I need to be better before I could do this.

My Husband and I and our four younger children just began visits and are awaiting placement of a 13yr old girl we are adopting from foster care. This podcast episode was so so encouraging and we begin to wade into the baggage. It’s so hard when she tries to push us away, but this encouraged me anew to stay committed and keep loving!! 😭
