30 Free and Fun Things to Do This Summer | “Little Bit” Party

Today is the start of a new blog series: 30 free and fun things to do this summer. I should add “easy,” too.

Day one is a “Little Bit” Party. Haven’t heard of it? That’s because my husband created it! We have three older kids (and a daughter-in-law and grandson!). But we also have a two-year-old, too. In addition to that we have an “adopted” daughter, her husband, and their three kids who call us Nana and Papa. John came up with the Little Bit Party as a fun activity for Alyssa and our three “adopted” grandkids, Cayla, Audrie, and Donovan.

The concept is simple. Create a dinner menu made of fun foods. The kids get served a “little bit” at a time. We’ve had parties before with lots of fun kid food/junk food that we purchased, but this time I did it with just the things in my pantry.

MENU:
applesauce

cheddar rice cakes

granola bars

butter noodles

chicken

steamed veggies

corn muffins

chocolate pudding

chocolate cupcakes

chocolate bar

(Hmm, what does that tell you when I have only chocolate items in my pantry?!)

Simple, eh? The fun part is the kids don’t know what’s coming next. They also only get a tiny bit at a time. Of course, after all the “courses” are served they can have as much as they like.

Consider having a Little Bit Party, and if you do, I’d love to see your photos!

what a neat idea for the kids, you have a smart hubby there, enjoy your summer-they seem to go to fast for me but I do enjoy little ones when I get to see them…
