Back Then…

Some times in writing, my first attempt is to take the easy way out. I was trying to do this with the book I’m currently writing, Blue Like Playdoh. This book shares much of my life journey, and I tried to tell it in sweet, devotional thoughts. My editor didn’t go for that. He wanted me to journey back. To revisit my questions and my fears. To be THERE, without the benefit of 20/20 vision.

It was crazy. I took myself back to the days when I had three little kids and no writing credentials. I didn’t spend much time with God, and I had no idea of where my life would be headed. There were more questions than answers, more worries than fulfilled dreams.

“There” (about fifteen years back) has been hanging around with me, and in my Bible Study I came across a great quote by Beth Moore, “Sometimes we don’t know why we’re on a certain road with God until miles have made their way to the soles of our feet.” Beth More, Stepping Up Workbook, p. 13.
Where is God taking you today? What road are you on? Eighteen years from now you might have a clue, but for now you too may have more questions than answers, more worries than fulfilled dreams. But keep walking God’s way. Keep moving your feet forward. Take one more step closer to Him today. There’s a purpose to the road, and a Savior who’s walking with you.

Tricia, a dear friend once told me, “No tears in the writer, no tears in the reader.”

    Wise friend. 🙂

I am so glad you stopped by on twitter …. I to know thing happen sometimes and you know God is in it! IT has been happening to me alot!

I know you and I have some very interesting things to share in the future…. I too have three children, who didn’t have the mother I always hoped to be because of Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue….. 15 years of my life was not something I had much control over!
i am sorry it took me so long to get back to you! I don’t have a computer at home, I use the library, they have a 1 hour limit; they in force sometimes. I have been busy working on things for my churches 125th birthday party! I also know God had a hand in us getting invited… He has now opened more doors and am meeting and making many friends….. something I didn’t have much of after I got sick!

Now I feel more like my body, mind and spirit are on the same wave link with God! It is such an awesome feeling… for I too didn’t understand or have much faith in God! I always believed just had so much past keeping me from seeing clearly into the future!

You have a Blessed Great Day Tomorrow! I am house sitting and dog sitting for my friend so will be able to use his computer this week!
    Linda

Well, thank you for reposting this Tricia…Here is what I wrote in my journal today…When I am wondering…”Why?”[because God is allowing things that look very much like they are totally NOT for His glory] “HE HAS HIS REASONS!”

You know, that really is enough isn’t it? “He has His reasons!”

I also thanked Him…”Lord, thank you.You do have your reasons and those reasons are very good!”

Your post was a smile and a wink from the One who wants me to rest in the fact that…”He has His reasons!”

    Bless you. Debbie

Debbie, I love that…I think I’ll use that. “He has reasons!”
