Do you need hope today?
Life has ups and downs, challenges and victories, joys, and sorrows. At times, it can be difficult to understand why certain things happen, and we may feel like we’re walking through the valley of the shadow of death. However, as believers, we have hope and a promise that can sustain us even amid the most challenging times: God’s power and faithfulness. We can trust in God’s power and promise, even in the ‘even thoughs’ of life.
In Joshua 2:15, we see an example of God’s power and faithfulness in action. The Israelites faced the daunting task of crossing the Jordan River at the flood stage. However, through God’s power and their persistence, they were able to cross and enter the Promised Land. The “even though” of the flood stage river did not deter them from trusting God’s promise and provision.
Similarly, in Genesis 50:20, Joseph’s story shows us how God can use even the most difficult circumstances to fulfill His plan. Joseph’s brothers acted out of jealousy and sold him into slavery, but God used Joseph’s time in Egypt to save many people and bring about His plan for His people.
David’s famous Psalm 23 also gives us a beautiful picture of trusting God’s power and presence amid fear and uncertainty. Even though David walked through the valley of the shadow of death, he feared no evil because he knew that God was with him, guiding and comforting him.
The ultimate example of God’s power and faithfulness is found in the crucifixion of Jesus. Even though Jesus was betrayed, falsely accused, and brutally crucified, His death and resurrection brought salvation to all who believed in Him. The “even though” of His crucifixion did not diminish the power of God’s plan for redemption and restoration.
As we face the “even thoughs” of our lives, we can take comfort and strength in knowing that God’s power and promise are not dependent on our circumstances. God can use our challenges and struggles to bring about the greater good and fulfill His purposes.
So, what are the “even thoughs” in your life? It could be a complicated relationship, a health issue, financial struggles, or a personal fear. Whatever it may be, know that God is with you, and His power and promise are greater than any challenge you may face. Trust in Him, persist in faith, and hold onto His promise. As we trust in God’s power and faithfulness, even in the “even thoughs,” we can receive His promised blessings and possess what He has for us.

Scripture:
Psalm 23:4, “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.”
Prayer:
Lord, today I may say ‘even though,’ I will follow trust in you and follow it with ‘God will.’ Even though the circumstances seem at flood stage around me, I will trust that You, Lord, will make a way. Even though those around me wish to harm me, I trust You, Lord, will bring it around for good. Even though I walk amid fear and uncertainty, I will trust that You, Lord, will show me Your power and presence. Lord, I am thankful for every ‘even though’ because I knew those things draw me to You.
We can trust in God’s power and promise, even in life’s ‘even thoughs.’
