“Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.” John 7:38
Have you ever thought about the difference between a stagnant pond and a clear, flowing river? The pond builds up slime and muck during it’s unrest, but a river rushes in constant motion and does not allow the water to still and grow foul. For both the river and the power, the water had at one time fallen fresh from the sky as a gentle downpour — only river’s constant flow keeps the water fresh.
The pond and the river can also be a symbol of God’s outpouring love and grace, coming from above. If we allow God’s blessings to remain within, they stale. If we let them flow–gush out–the love and grace will remain fresh in their flow. Or as Oswald Chambers said, “Spiritually, we cannot measure our life by success, but only by what God pours through us, and we cannot measure that at all.” Are you allowing God to pour out blessings through you?
In his book, People Sharing Jesus, Darrel Robinson says, “The fullness of Christ in my life and the unhindered flow of His love through me is my source of daily power and joy.”
Today, do you have a scripture, a song, or a passage of a book that has touched you? Share it. Did God show you His love in a special way this week? Pour out that love to someone else. Keep it fresh, baby!
