Great Tips for Homeschooling Smart Kids!

One of the biggest mistakes that homeschoolers make is trying to find the perfect curriculum or set the ideal schedule. The problem is that no two children are the same. Better instead is to learn all the best parts of our own kids and go from there. And that’s what we’re talking about in today’s podcast!

Each of our kids has one of eight smarts:

  • Body Smart
  • Logic Smart
  • Music Smart
  • Nature Smart
  • People Smart
  • Self Smart
  • Picture Smart
  • Word Smart

Every smart is equally important and valuable. Homeschooling provides the freedom and opportunity to help our kids explore and develop all eight smarts to their highest potential. Using our favorite curriculum, we can tailor what we teach to how kids learn best.

It’s also important, as homeschooling moms, to learn that we’re not failures if our kids struggle. As today’s guest, Tina Hollenbeck says, “It’s imperative to understand and embrace the truth that our kids will not be good at everything.”

As homeschoolers, we have the freedom at home to fully honor how each of our kids has been designed–and then use our knowledge and love for our kids to activate, shape, and grow each one’s complete strength profile.

We can set customized, realistic goals for each child based on our best understanding of what each will actually need to launch well into adult life as a unique individual, without feeling trapped by some idea of what “everyone else” does.

Does this encourage you as a homeschool mom? I hope it does! I know you’re going to enjoy this conversation!
