How Do I Homeschool?
When we first start homeschooling, parents often think the big stuff they need to know about includes things like curriculum and schedules. But as a homeschooling mom for twenty-eight years, I’ve learned that parents need a few other things:
Confidence: Seeing that other people have done it.
Hope: Trusting that we will guide our children well and be able to teach them spiritually and academically
Direction: Gaining ideas from others, yet figuring out our own path
Mission: Deciding our focus for our families
Vision: Realizing that homeschooling does not need to look like public school
I love this quote: “Homeschooling allows you the freedom to step off the highway of learning and take a more scenic route along a dirt road.” – Tamara L. Chilver
While I know that this quote is true, I LOVE how today’s guest, Yvette Hampton, and her family actually took homeschool on the highway to travel the United States and create a documentary to inspire, guide, and educate other families. I know you’ll be inspired.
