During the WWI years, Arthur S. Mole and John D. Thomas made some incredible human pictures by using thousands of sailors or soldiers in uniform to create images. Unbelievable. I just can’t imagine how long it took to line all of these men up just right to get such a picture!
The bottom of this photo says: Standing Tall: Titled, “The Human Statue of Liberty”, this image was taken at Camp Dodge in Iowa and used eighteen thousand men.
Wow!

That is truly amazing! I wonder how long it took to get everyone in place and then to keep them there without getting impatient?
Wow, I’ve been on Camp Dodge, but it’s not as open now as it was then. My husband, who’s National Guard and drilled many times at Camp Dodge, will love this. When he gets home from his Sergeant leadership training school I’ll have to show him.
That is crazy/amazing! 🙂 That had to take forever..
I have seen a similar picture, but this one is much better. I wonder what makes people think of the idea! How wonderful. I am heading over to the truffles page. Thanks,Cindi
