You are here: Home / teens / Jesus is ALIVE!

Jesus is ALIVE!

{source}

Easter is tomorrow. What does that make you think of? A new Easter dress? Bunnies and chocolate? An Easter egg hunt?

I think of LIFE. Jesus alive! But also my life transformed. If only’s fulfilled beyond our wildest expectations:

Some hopes fail to deliver. Some expectations deflate like an untied balloon. “If only” dreams are different for each person. “If only I made the team…could have my own car…got asked out on a real date.” The only wall between you and happiness is an “if only.”

Then it happens. You make the team, get the care, and go on the date…but it’s not what you expected. Life has letdowns. And how do you know Christ won’t be one of them? Honestly.

He has big promises. Life. Eternal life. “Whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16). If we were on the 3:16 road trip, with this chapter we’d be pulling into the final destination.

There is just one more word to think about: life.

Life in this verse doesn’t mean the length of life on earth, but eternal life. Jesus offers more–something a jersey, a car, or a date can never do. And you’ll love how he does it. Jesus reconnects your soul with God…

Deep within we’ve known (haven’t we?) something is awry–we feel disconnected. What he hope will bring life brings limited amounts…three fifty’s worth. We hve fun with friends, find meaning in family, yet long for something more…

Thankfully, Jesus gives us a way to reconnect.

He breathes life into flatlined lives. He does for our hearts what we do for dead car batteries.

“Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we’ve been given a brand-new life and have everything to live for, including a future in heaven–and the future starts now!” (1 Peter 1:3-4 MSG).
