You are here: Home / family / Love is always something to rejoice in …

Love is always something to rejoice in …

We all know there are various stages of parenting. And in our home they are happening all at once.

For the little princess I’m:

  • diaper changer
  • ba-ba getter
  • book reader
  • tickle monster
  • hair washer
  • teeth brusher
  • lap snuggler

For the big guy I’m:

  • taxi driver
  • teacher
  • book editor
  • video game player
  • dinner maker
  • room cleaner (on occasion)

For the beautiful young woman:

  • I’m a coffee buddy
  • mentor
  • listening ear
  • advice giver
  • fellow movie watcher
  • spiritual encourager
  • friend

Our roles change as moms, yet with each new stage comes different rewards. As I give I also get snuggles, smiles, late night chats and laughter in return. Sometimes vanilla lattes too. Being many things to many people can feel like I’m spreading myself thin, but I like to think of it as sharing a lot of love. And that’s the thing I give and get most … love.

Love is always something to rejoice in no matter the stage.
