My Writing Desk | Lynn Austin

office 2

office 3

On the desk around my monitor I keep reminders of all the urgent things I need to get done. There’s my calendar and the weekly list I make of top priorities for that week. There is also the chapter-by-chapter outline of the book in progress so I can see where I’m going and where I’ve been so far in the story.  On the wall behind my monitor is a bulletin board with pictures of my characters and scenery from the story, so I can envision my characters easily every time I sit down to write. To the right of my monitor are important files of all my current projects, where they will be handy. All around my desk are my bookshelves with the reference and writing books I need to have close at hand. I also like to surround my workspace with pictures of my family because they are always close to my heart. I keep my Christy awards all around me, too, to remember what an honor it was to win them and to remind me to always give myself fully to the work of the Lord.

Is that a typewriter on the middle shelf? Your office looks so comfy and cozy to work in.

I love Amish books and historical fiction. However, with their conservative plain ways, Amish people seem to portray a time in history when women were more modest and horse and buggies were used by all. 🙂 Keep writing the good stuff!
