A few months ago my husband John told me he had to attend a work conference in Florida and he asked me to join him. Hmmm, let me think … sunny Florida, a hotel room to write in, together time, alone time. It sounded great to me.
We got here on Sunday after a long day of flying. Monday John and I went to Epcot. I had Red Bean Ice Cream and Crème Brule in France … who can beat that? We had to admit, though, that we missed the kids. It’s so fun seeing them having fun. Still … we had a great time!
Yesterday I worked in the hotel room. I wrote 16 pages … which is great! Okay, I also have to admit that I lounged by the pool for a while. It was super sunny here yesterday during the day, but then there were thunderstorms in the afternoon. It cleared up just in time for John and I to go to the pool around 10:00 p.m. The water was still warm–warmed than the lakes in Montana get all summer!
The crazy thing is that my kids called and told me it was SNOWING in Montana. It snowed 1 1/2 inches and stuck!!! I felt so bad for them!!! I tried not to let them know that I was already getting a tan. Whoops.
Stop Lurking! Every week I will draw names for a free Tricia Goyer book from those who comment on my blogs. Winner’s choice! Tell your friends.
Snow?!! We are in a heat-wave here and your kids mention snow?
Sometimes it is good to get away and enjoy yourself and I am so happy that you did.
I look forward to the day that my husband and I could get away somewhere without my monkeys, ahhh…the peace. Hee.
With the high temps and lack of rain here in GA, it’s hard to believe there could be snow anywhere in the US. Actually, I would love to be there!
I’m glad you’re enjoying your Florida vacation, Tricia. It’s a lovely place to visit.
Oh I’m so jealous you had such a sunny “vacation”! Yes, the snow here was something else (I had to take pictures to prove it to my southern family). I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for summer to hit this state already!
Glad you had a nice time in Florida.
The first thing I think of each time I hear the state, Florida, I think of my good author friend who lives there. I also have another friend who we actually got to visit once. It was warm weather then too when we went so I can identify, though it rained one day. Sounds like quite a contrast between snow and sunny-warm days. Hard to imagine them both being the same day.

Tricia, Welcome to my Florida world!
Hope it’s going great whether you’re still here or on the way back to the snowy west.
Blessings!

You missed the snow……? Well, I am envious, but then I do not like heat too! It was the oddest thing…
