Maria Chapman

I ‘m sure most of you have heard the sad news about the death of Stephen Curtis Chapman’s daughter.

For those of you wanting to know more, go to Stephen Curtis Chapman’s website http://www.stevencurtischapman.com/.

There’s also a page set up in memory of Maria where condolences can be postedL http://chapmanchannel.typepad.com/inmemoryofmaria/.

Here’s what the first post on that condolence page said:

Your prayers are needed for all in the Chapman family. This is a family who has so generously loved and given to so many. Just hours before this close knit family was celebrating the engagement of the oldest daughter Emily Chapman, and were just hours away from a graduation party marking Caleb Chapman’s completion of high school. Now, they are preparing to bury a child who blew out 5 candles on a birthday cake less than 10 days ago.

So very, very tragic. And yet, God is still sovereign.

Stop Lurking! Every week I will draw names for a free Tricia Goyer book from those who comment on my blogs. Winner’s choice! Tell your friends.

That is so sad. I cannot imagine the pain they must be in and for her brother who caused the accident, his mental state is something we should pray for.

Even though I realize there is a reason for everything, I can hardly bear to read stories like this. It is difficult enough to loose a child, but there son has to live with the accident the rest of his life! God Bless them all…..Cindi

Yes, God is still sovereign, and we take comfort in that. I just read today in a work of fiction that we must not let the whys crowd out the knowledge that God has never left our side, and never will leave our side. I pray that for the Chapman family.

I cannot even imagine the pain this family is going through and yes, they have my prayers.
