On the heels of my upcoming release with Phil Hodges and Ken Blanchard, Lead Your Family Like Jesus, I decided to poll my Facebook and Twitter friends about all things family, parenting, and leadership. I first asked them, “How do moms lead?”
“By admitting when they are wrong. It’s both humbling and a good lesson to tell your child, ‘I’m sorry.'” ~Jennifer Clark
“By not being afraid to tell their teen of the lessons they learned from mistakes made at their age.” ~Lori O’Dell
“By example. And taking the time to explain and teach when an opportunity arises.” ~Nicole Hartsell Hall
“By learning that the housework will wait, but a child wanting love can’t!” ~Diane Liggett
“As a mom, I try to lead by example. However, being human and flawed, I have owned up to my failings, my mistakes, and my bad choices, and then I made sure that from the oldest to the youngest of our kids that they know I asked for forgiveness from my God and then continued to march and try to do better and never beat myself up. I pray that they learn from my examples!” ~Julia Arnold Wallace
“By example—my oldest gave me a a mother’s devotional Bible after she went through rebellion because she said she never saw me without my Bible open. It will always be a blessing.” ~Jane Squires
