MY FAMILY
I said, “I do,” to the love of my life and married John Goyer in 1990. John not only became my husband, but he became Cory’s dad. God had blessed me with a beautiful son and a wonderful husband.
John and I had two more kids Leslie and Nathan. Our three oldest kids are adults, and I couldn’t be more proud of them!
Cory also has two amazing kids Clayton and Chloe. John and I love being grandparents. Leslie is married to Honza, and they live in the Czech Republic, where he’s from.
When our three oldest kids were out of the house, John and I felt called to adoption. We first adopted a baby girl. We brought Alyssa home when she was six days old. When Alyssa was three-years-old we adopted two children from foster care. Casey and Bella have brought a lot of joy and fun to our homes.
A few years after that, in 2015, John and I felt the tug again, and we adopted a sibling group of four older girls. Arianna, Lauren, Jordan and Florentina filled out hearts and lives to overflowing. We also opened our hearts to their older sister Lili, who had aged out of foster care. Lili is married to Regi, and she gave us two more wonderful grandkids Maya and Te’o.
Our final daughter is Kayleigh. She was one of the teen moms I mentored in our Teen MOPS group, and we unofficially made her part of our family. Kayleigh has three kids, MaCayla, Audrie and Donovan … which means more grandkids!
Finally, my 88-year-old grandma lives with us. We find it a joy to be able to love her and care for her, too.
