Earlier this month I announced the “My Favorite Memory” contest and asked you to send in your favorite childhood memories to be entered to win 1 of 10 copies of my new book Sweet September!
Over the next few weeks I’ll be posting those entries. What a treat it has been to read your stories!
Karla:
One of my favorite childhood memories is spending time with my grandmother every summer picking cherries, pitting them, and making pies fresh off the tree. We also spent hours tending her beautiful gardens.
We’d pick raspberries fresh off the vine and then sit on the front porch swing and eat them one at a time after rolling them in sugar. My love of lilacs comes from my grandmother’s bushes that lined her driveway. It was a magical place and I miss it. But when I’m lonely or sad, I can close my eyes and go there. It is my happy place.
Contest ended August 31st. The winners will be announced September 5th!
