Earlier this month I announced the “My Favorite Memory” contest and asked you to send in your favorite childhood memories to be entered to win 1 of 10 copies of my new book Sweet September!
Over the next few weeks I’ll be posting those entries. What a treat it has been to read your stories!
Lynn:
My heart and mind are filled with so many wonderful childhood memories that it’s difficult to choose just one. Well, here goes. One of my favorite memories is summertime bike riding, racing endlessly round and round the subdivision circle, the wind in my face, the bugs at night colliding with my teeth, and the playing cards rat-a-tat-tatting against the wheel spokes as they were hooked on with clothespins. That feeling of freedom and wonder has never left me even though it sometimes gets shoved in the closet. Woo-hoo!
Contest ended August 31st. The winners will be announced later today!
Ahh, I remember, too. And racing home as the streetlight slowly lit . . . because the rule at my house declared we must be in our own yard by the time the streetlight was fully lit!!
