My writing spot is as neat and uncluttered as I can make it, mostly because I’m a little OCD, and any distractions in my workspace only keep me from being creative. The desk is an old typewriter table—the top actually folds up and a shelf appears to hold the typewriter. I love that! Since I write historical novels with a bit of suspense, this old-fashioned desk with a “secret compartment” seems to fit nicely.
Also in the picture are my favorite chair and an old lamp I bought for my husband back when I was on a huge “western” kick and wanted to put cowboys everywhere. And the pictures on the wall . . . well . . . they just happened to match the wallpaper. LOL!

Aww…our old house! We moved recently after living in the same place for 15 years, so seeing that picture brought back a flood of memories!
Thanks again for hosting me, Tricia. Good luck to everyone who enters!
🙂

Found it! I love the antique desk! But, it wouldn’t work for me. Can you believe I am not a neat person? So the more space I have the better. Love your space Elizabeth and love the books that you create there.
Such a nice writing spot. I love antiques and pieces with character! Enjoy these “wriing desk” articles.
