This is the office where I write. In the interests of keeping it real, I only cleaned up the slew of coffee and tea mugs before I took the photo. After the kids head off to school, I open all the window blinds so I can look out on the snow (or tulips and green grass during the three months that aren’t winter). It is very sunny, so it’s the place my three cats tend to visit. By late morning, they are all lying in the sun, snoring while I write. There is also a lovely couch where I do some of my best “thinking.”

About The Thief and a Giveaway
Longinus is a Roman centurion haunted by death and failure. Desperate to escape the accursed Judean province, he accepts a wager. If he can catch the thieves harassing the marketplace before Passover, he’ll earn a transfer away from the troublemaking Jews.
Nissa is a Jewish woman with a sharp tongue and no hope of marriage. Only with the help of Mouse, the best thief in Jerusalem, can she keep her blind brother, Cedron, fed and a roof over their heads.
When a controversial teacher miraculously heals Cedron, Longinus longs to learn more about the mysterious healer. Instead, his journey leads him to Nissa, whose secret will determine the course of both their futures.
Unexpectedly caught up in the arrest, trial, and crucifixion of Jesus, they wonder who this teacher is who heals others but does nothing to save himself. Is the mercy he offers in his teachings real, or just another false promise? Can Nissa and Longinus overcome their pasts to find a future free of their shackles?

Well, I love a peek into any Writer’s desk area so YAY! New to Stephanie, but looks interesting!
PS, I really don’t have a favorite historical fiction fave area. I am open…and do generally read non-fiction. So consider me VERY open. lol!
I am excited to find an author new to me and look forward to reading Stephanie’s books!
Enjoy all time periods but this sounds particularly intriguing as it ties in with the events in the life of Jesus.
wow! never realized a writer would have all that in the office!!! I thought maybe just a computer!! lol shows I could never be a writer, BUT sure makes me admire you ladies so much more! The Thief sure sounds like a book I will buy if I am not fortunate enough to win it. I love the suspense books and am a member of the LI suspense book club, as well as the LI Romance! In other words, I love to read!!!! and the Love Inspired books are wonderful. Amazes me why some writers think they cant write without all the potty mouth and trash!!! LI proves that it can be done!!! Thank you Stephanie, for allowing me to enter your give-a-way and also for sharing your God given talent with us! May God continue His blessings on you and your family….and cats!!
Thanks for having me on today, Tricia, and sharing The Thief with your followers. Good luck to all in the giveaway!
My favorite historical period to read about in historical fiction is mostly the American 19th Century. I am pretty obsessed with that specific time period.
Stephanie, thanks for sharing your writing space with us today. I especially like your board of sticky notes. Is that like a story board where you plot out your timeline? I’ve never considered something like that before, but I’m thinking it might be very helpful.
My favorite era to read in historical fiction changes over the course of reading. During the last year, I read Kim Sawyer’s Sweet Sanctuary, which was set in the 1940s, I think. That book was a fun, sweet read that I really enjoyed. Covered wagon days, revolutionary days, Civil War days, etc… they’re all good!
What’s your favorite era to write about?
Blessings,
Andrea
Yes, Andrea, that’s my story board for my next book, The Tomb. Each scene gets a sticky note, color-coded to the POV character. The story changes a lot so I go through lots of sticky notes! I don’t know what my favorite era to write about is because I’ve only written Biblical so far. I’ll let you know!
Wouldn’t have thought about color-coding the POV character. Aren’t you just filled with wonderful ideas?
Happy writing!
I enjoy reading about the Civil War period. Thanks for this giveaway.
Definitely the time where Jesus walked the earth, or around that time. Any Biblical fiction is my favourite time period 😀 (I’ve read “The Well” and “The Thief” and absolutely loved them!! So well written and grand!)
I loved the article! And the book sounds interesting! Really, I gravitate towards an interesting story line rather than a particular era. Thanks for the giveaway!
I don’t really have a favorite historical era I like reading…I’m open to all eras. 🙂 I love to read them all.
Any time period interests me as I love learning along with reading a good novel. TY
