My Writing Desk | Suzanne Woods Fisher

Here’s my office! My laundry room. You can see the iron and ironing board, washer, and dryer. The desk is tiny, and my yoga chair gets bumped each time someone has a load of laundry to start. The closet behind my desk doubles as a broom closet and and office closet. Plus, this little room is cohabited with two big yellow dogs who think they own the joint. It’s a wonder I can write two sentences that make any sense!

But . . . this little laundry room is also the heart of the home. I can jump up and answer the phone, do dishes in the kitchen, get some iced tea, let the dogs in and out (they never seem to be on the right side of a door. Have you noticed that about dogs?).

For me, it works.

Some of you may not have read her earliest book. Copper Star and Copper Fire. I highly recommend them.

As a new mom and writer, I LOVE this! It encourages me that I’m not the only one writing from the “heart of the home” 🙂
