Years ago when I was a young homeschooling mom I discovered Unit Studies by Amanda Bennett. (I’m still a homeschool mom, just not as young.) I loved them! (Still do.) My kids enjoyed learning about one topic and exploring it in various way.
Recently my co-author Mike Yorkey and I invited Amanda to chat with us about France! Why France? Mike and I have a book, Chasing Mona Lisa, that is set there, and Amanda has a new Unit Study on France!
You can watch our Video Chat here.
Passport France is part of the Passport Geography series—a one-week, virtual journey around the globe for grades K – 12. One of my favorite things as a homeschooling mom is getting to learn along side my kids—and could be a better place to learn about than France?!
If you’re not familiar with a Unit Study, The Passport Geography series uses a cross-curricular approach (covering geography, history, science, art, etc.) to take students on virtual journeys around the globe. Each study in interactive, including daily lessons, “clickable” Internet links that have been carefully screened for appropriate content, use of multimedia resources to engage your students in a virtual tour of the country, and much more. There are no expensive resources required; these units are complete and ready for immediate use.
