Dabney Hedegard

More about Dabney: Dabney Hedegard is a writer, speaker, and professional patient. When Dabney was twenty-five-years-old, a football-size-tumor entangled vital organs in her chest, alerting doctors to the cancer attacking her body. But the source of a greater fear grew inches below the mass: a six-week-old baby. The disease and the decision to keep her child marked the beginning of Dabney’s battles with nine life-threatening illnesses and four near-death experiences.

Dabney graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic University with a BA in theater. In addition to writing for the Good News newspaper, Dabney speaks at local churches, MOPS groups, women’s conferences, and crisis pregnancy centers. She and her husband, Jason, live in South Florida with their four children. The Hedegards attend Calvary Church in Jupiter.

More about When God Intervenes: When Dabney Hedegard was six weeks pregnant, doctors discovered an eight-inch tumor embedded in her chest. She was diagnosed with cancer and opted to postpone treatment until further along in her pregnancy. This marked the beginning of a ten-year battle against cancer, cardiomyopathy, mitral valve prolapse, pulmonary embolism, acute pneumonia, kidney failure, respiratory failure, and heart failure. In each instance, Dabney was given less than a 30 percent chance of surviving, and twice doctors told her husband, “She’ll never make it through the night.” But each time the doctors had given up hope, God intervened, miraculously rescuing Dabney from death’s doorstep. Part medical drama, part account of divine intervention, Dabney’s extraordinary story is a fast-paced, emotional roller-coaster ride that will have you crying one moment and cheering the next. Dabney’s journey is an indisputable testament to the undeniable power of prayer.

Great giveaway- I’ll be 20 in the summer so I would especially love to read “101 Secrets”, but they both sound awesome. BTW- I have been so blessed by “Praying for Your Future Husband”- I read it a couple years ago, and am still constantly recommending it to other young ladies. So a big THANK YOU for writing it 🙂 Have a blessed week!

I love to hear Dabney’s story of triumph and God’s devine intervention! I would love to win “When God Intervenes”, I would share this with a close friend of mine, who is living with Lupus. Lupus has attacked her digestive system and lungs. One of her lungs have collapsed. The doctors have told her there is nothing else they can do. I just want her to know that man says its nothing else that can be done, but GOD has the final say.
