Shortcake For Fresh Strawberries

Shortcake For Fresh Strawberries

Happy day! The latest book in the Pinecraft Pie Shop series releases TODAY!! To celebrate I’m sharing a delicious recipe for strawberry shortcake from my co-author, Sherry Gore. Check out Sewn with Joy and the other books in the series for more Amish recipes.

Shortcake For Fresh Strawberries

1 cup butter
4 cups all-purpose flour
2 cups granulated sugar
4 teaspoons baking powder
2 cups whole milk
whipped cream for topping

Preheat oven to 350*F.

In a large bowl, crumble the butter, flour and sugar together until crumbs are fine and even textured. Add baking powder and milk, mixing until well blended. Batter will be lumpy. Pour into greased 15×10-inch jelly roll pan or, for a thicker shortcake, use a greased 13×9-inch pan.

Bake 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.

Spoon sugared strawberries over thick slices of shortcake and stack; the higher the better.

Top with a generous dollop of whipped cream. Enjoy!

Celebrate the release of ‘Sewn with Joy’ with a yummy recipe on @triciagoyer’s blog!

Sewn with Joy

One Piece at a Time

Joy Miller wanted nothing more than to be a wife and mother—especially now that her relationship with Matthew Slagel, the bishop’s son, was deepening. But when a television crew rolls into Pinecraft, Florida, to film a new show about the Amish, tension threatens to rip apart their relationship…and the entire Amish community.

Joy is initially hired to sew costumes for the show, but she soon finds herself becoming increasingly involved in the production—a fact that upsets Matthew and his father. Yet the more Joy befriends the Englischer production crew, the more she senses God working in their lives through her. Can she turn her back on this opportunity to share God’s love? Will she and Matthew somehow be able to stitch together their dreams for the future?

Experience love, heartbreak, and hope in this sweet story of two worlds uniting in unexpected ways.

Hi Tricia. Have enjoyed your 3 Pinecraft Pie Shop books and wondered if you were planning to write about Faith and Grace, also. Best wishes to you!
