Christmas in September…it’s never a bad idea to get a head-start!
Do you have someone on your list this year that loves romances? This is the perfect gift!
Snowbound Colorado Christmas: Four stories of romance set against the great blizzard of 1913 in Denver, Colorado. In Tamela Hancock Murray’s opening novella, Fires of Love, a house party in the midst of the storm brings together hostess Thalia and the man she loved long ago. In Lena Nelson Dooley’s The Best Medicine, the snowfall brings love to guest Rose and a dashing physician. In Susan Page Davis’s Almost Home, Patricia leaves the party and sets out on horseback with her old friend Jared, but they soon regret leaving the safety of town and plunging into the snow. In Darlene Franklin’s Dressed in Scarlet, wealthy Natalie nearly runs down a man in the storm. She takes refuge at the famous Brown Hotel, where she finds love. Curl up with this cozy collection of historical romance.
I know that working on a collection that weaves together takes a lot of work. How did your team schedule the work?
Susan: My story begins when Patricia leaves the house party, so I didn’t have to include much detail about the party or the other authors’ stories, which was probably easier for me.
Where do you do most of your writing?
Lena: When my youngest daughter got married and moved out, I turned her bedroom into an office. Most of my writing is done at my desktop computer. However, I do own a laptop and have been known to write on it, both at home and away.
Tell us about your novella.
Darlene: Fabrizio Ricci, coachman/mechanic at the Brown Palace, rescues heiress Natalie Daire when she crashes her car on the way home from a party. The quiet man intrigues Natalie, and she ropes him into helping her entertain the hotel guests during their enforced stay. They like each other but are afraid that a relationship between them won’t work away from the magical snowbound world. And yes, she does indeed use her underwear to fashion hats and mittens for the hotel staff.
What other books have you had published?
Tamela: I’m an award-winning, bestselling author of many historical and contemporary romance novels for Barbour Publishing. My latest is THE MUSIC OF HOME, an historical story set in North Carolina. Barbour published my Bible trivia books for adults and also for children. I am grateful to Barbour for how well they market their books. More than once I’ve seen Sunday school teachers in my own church using my trivia books. Our church is large and they didn’t know the author was a member of their congregation. I felt honored and humbled seeing my books used for God’s glory.
