Dear Weary Mom
You Are Courageous
How does a mom become courageous? Courage only comes when we face something that makes our knees tremble. Mom, I don’t know about you, but this happens to me every day!
Mom, you can become courageous when you step outside of your comfort zone. When you set up that chore chart (even when you worry it’ll take a lot of work to maintain). When you ask your husband to pray for you (even when you don’t want him to know how weak you really are). When you sign up for that Bible study (even when you don’t know the other women well).
Mom, you can become courageous when you believe in who God made you to be. God knew what He was doing when he gave you those kids. He believes in your leadership. He believes in the impact He can make in your kids’ lives and hearts through you. Trust that you are God’s daughter and that He lives and works in you. Ask Him to come to you, to fill you, and to be strong in your weakness. And when He comes, courage does too.
Mom, you can become courageous when you see your challenges as God sees them. Most challenges are opportunities—to get to know God better, to learn to trust Him more, and to bring change and discipline into your life. God knows everything, and He loves your completely. Challenges don’t come into your life to crush you. The come to show you how courageous you are in Him!
Need courage? I know a God who is ready to give you some. Turn to Him.

God, thank you for giving me the gift of motherhood. It is a true blessing, but sometimes I grow weary. When those times come, help me turn to you to draw strength. May I make courageous decisions each day for my family. Thank you for challenges to test me and draw me closer to you.
