My space. I love, love, love the morning sunshine spilling in the window, the large screen Mac (my indulgence) and the curved keyboard (essential to relieve my carpal tunnel problems). Behind my desk, peeking at you from the right of the picture, is my antique German-made hutch that holds research books, a stapler, a few antiques, and all the books, to date, in the Quilts of Love series, of which my newest release, A Heartbeat Away, is a part! Aren’t those such colorful covers?
My desk itself is also bill-pay central, so there are plenty of envelopes scattered about since this was taken during tax season. The phone, the essential-for-every-author external harddrive, and of course my little dog who enjoys curling into a ball next to my feet on the ottoman as I write, or, better yet, he sometimes lays on my shoulders! Great neck roll. Along the wall are the covers of my historical romances and cozy mysteries, as well as some of the certificates I’ve earned for being a Carol Award finalist. And that is my space where I slave away over the keyboard for about two to four hours a day when I’m actively engaged in the writing of a book.

When a band of runaway slaves brings Union-loyal Beth Bumgartner a wounded Confederate soldier named Joe, it is the catalyst that pushes her to defy her pacifist parents and become a nurse during the Battle of Antietam.
Her mother’s mysterious goodbye gift is filled with quilt blocks that bring comfort to Beth during the hard days and lonely nights, but as she sews each block, she realizes there is a hidden message of faith within the pattern that encourages and sustains her. Reunited with Joe, Beth learns his secret and puts the quilt’s message to its greatest test—but can betrayal be forgiven?
