#WalkItOut Podcast 079: Hillary Morgan Ferrer
If you’ve been listening to the podcast for a while, or if you’ve gotten the chance to meet me at an event, you probably think that I’m a nice person. I do try to be nice and kind, but talk to my kids and they can tell you that there are times that I’m a mama bear. I actually have a couple of shirts that say “Mama Bear” on them, and to me, it’s the person that will stand up, talk to their kids if they aren’t doing something they should be — or talk to other parents if they see another child being a bully — I will stand up. I know that it is our job to protect our kids and to prepare them for the future.
I do homeschool, and one reason that I homeschool isn’t just that I can give them a Biblical foundation and to have a relationship with them, but in a way, it’s so I can protect my kids from so much stuff out there.
In her book, Mama Bear Apologetics, Hillary Morgan Ferrer says this, “The greatest protection we can give our kids is to equip them to face the culture lies head-on while remaining gracious, loving, and winsome.” We’ll be chatting today about helping our kids understand apologetics, and how we can train our kids to respond to the culture.
You are going to enjoy my conversation with Hillary. I know you will be blessed! You can listen above or on iTunes. I’d love it if you share this with your friends.

This Week’s Walk It Out Scripture
2 Corinthians 10:1-6
By the humility and gentleness of Christ, I appeal to you—I, Paul, who am “timid” when face to face with you, but “bold” toward you when away! I beg you that when I come I may not have to be as bold as I expect to be toward some people who think that we live by the standards of this world. For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. And we will be ready to punish every act of disobedience, once your obedience is complete.
