Standing Strong with Alli Worthington
Don’t you love it when you’re reading along and something in a book makes you sit up a little straighter, causing you to think of something in a new way? Recently I was reading Standing Strong by Alli Worthington, and this quote did that for me: “Think of a strong woman in your life, that woman you look up to? Someone is looking at you like that right now. You are that strong woman to others. You are the embodiment of what a great woman of God is to someone.”
In each of our lives, there are those who are looking up to us … for encouragement, for support, and for inspiration. Sometimes it’s a neighbor or a friend … always it’s a family member, especially our kids. Even when we feel weak, we can be a testimony of strength to someone else. How amazing is that?!
In today’s podcast, Alli and I talk about what it means to stand strong. We tackle the struggle with our inner critic (aka rude nanny!). We talk about what really works to push past self-doubt. We also talk about what obedience and following God looks like. Sometimes it’s stepping FORWARD in faith, and sometimes it’s stepping BACK from something we really, really want to do. (Ali and I both share an example.) Yet in all of that, standing strong means depending on God’s power and not our own. If you’re ready to really live the life that God’s designed for you, you’re going to love this episode!
