The Writer’s Desk with Kimberley Woodhouse
Kimberley Woodhouse is an award-winning and bestselling author of more than thirty books. More about A Mark of Grace:
When everything crumbles, her chance for a new beginning hangs in the balance.
Ruth Anniston survived an injury that left her physically scarred, broken, and angry at God. Now, she finds herself working behind the scenes as a kitchen and dining room supervisor at the El Tovar Hotel, hidden away from curious eyes and with little hope of finding love. When money begins to disappear from the hotel, Ruth’s entire livelihood is put at risk when she lands on the list of suspects.
Frank Henderson has at last succeeded in obtaining his dream job as head chef at the El Tovar. But competition in the kitchen is fierce, and one mistake could cost him his future. As the thefts at the hotel continue, and his affection for Ruth grows, Frank’s career—and his heart—are in jeopardy.
As tensions run high, Ruth and Frank must work together to save the El Tovar. They find themselves growing closer . . . but can their combined ingenuity overcome the odds against them?

Q&A with Kimberley Woodhouse
TG: What is your writing process like?
KW: I split my day between word count on my current WIP, edits on other books that are in different stages (whether that is macro, line, or galleys), and marketing/publicity/social media stuff. I write and walk on a treadmill at my desk.
TG: What is your writing Kryptonite?
KW: I can’t tell anyone that!
TG: If you could tell your younger writing self anything, what would it be?
KW: To write more (a lot more) when I was younger. 😊
TG: What was the best money you ever spent as a writer?
KW: My Uplift desk and Treadly treadmill. They have made a huge difference. Not only do I keep moving, but it keeps my creative juices flowing 😊
TG: What is the first book that made you cry?
KW: Not My Will by Francena Arnold
TG: As a writer, what would you choose as your mascot?
KW: A cheetah! In a red hoodie of course. With a cup of coffee.
TG: Which book that you’ve written is your favorite?
KW: That’s such an unfair question—like asking if you have a favorite child! I probably call each one a favorite as I’m researching and writing it. 😉
TG: Which of your books was the most fun to write?
KW: I would probably say, No Safe Haven, because I wrote that with my daughter and we had a blast.
TG: Which was the most difficult — and why?
KW: Probably the sequel to that, Race Against Time, because of what the young character had to go through.
TG: Finally, what is coming up next for you?
KW: I’ve got five full-length novels releasing this year and so I’m super excited for all that 2023 will bring! A Mark of Grace, 26 Below, The Heart’s Choice, The Secrets Beneath, and 8 Down.
