In July when I first started thinking about launching a Teen MOPS group, the task seemed daunting. We’d just connected with a great church. I only had one person to help. (I really didn’t give Michelle and option not to help!) I had no money, and didn’t know very many people in Arkansas who could help me by volunteering, giving, and getting the word out. For a while I considered starting the group NEXT year. Instead, I felt a clear message from God. “Take a step of faith.” To me that meant I needed to take the first steps of starting this group, even though I couldn’t see how things would work out. I just had to trust God did know and He would meet my every need. After all, He had a message of love for these girls. He just needed an avenue to get it there!
I started by talking to new friends about it. They, in returned, talked to their friends. One friend, Merry, gave me a whole list of community leaders I needed to talk to. Those leaders led me to others who were willing to help. And, of course, I shared my vision at the local MOPS group. I knew MOPS moms rock, and they haven’t disappointed!!
For months later, after we have our first month’s of meeting, I can say that our every need was met. God provided the leaders, the baby items for our MOPS shop, and meals for each night. He provided the venue, the folks to give rides to the teen moms and their kids, and the women who roll up their sleeves and offer a helping hand. And He provided the young moms. Amazing young women who strive to be the best they can be! And after looking back over the months, I can say without a doubt God did what He said. He provided. HE PROVIDED! Our help is coming in week-to-week as we need it, but the help is there!!

What about you? Is there is a mission, a ministry, God has placed on your heart? It’s one thing to get a glimpse of God’s agenda and get excited. It’s another thing to take those small steps of faith–even when you can’t see how things are going to work out.
God WILL do what he says. His possibilities are endless. My hope is that today you will accept the challenge to be that man or woman God is seeking to use. Then, as a tool in God’s hands, you will experience the incredible joy and satisfaction of knowing God is using your life as his instrument to build his kingdom and to change your world. I guarantee it.
