Let’s Journey to the Heart of Europe Together
The first time I visited Prague, in the Czech Republic, my heart burned with a love for its people. Prague is the most beautiful city I’ve ever seen. Church spires jut into the skyline, evidence of the city’s religious past. Yet there is a deeper reality beneath the stunning views.
The Czech Republic, like much of Europe, is highly secular. Toughly, 80% of the population identifies as atheist. Many people, disillusioned with institutional religion, seek meaning within themselves or through trusted friendships. And, friends, this is where we step in!
The Open Door for Ministry
This openness to genuine friendship is exactly where our opportunity lies. When we build real relationships, the Czech people are incredibly receptive to spiritual conversations. In the Czech context, gospel ministry moves at the speed of trust. Building these friendships with the Czech people requires steadfastness and faith (Hebrews 11:1). When that trust takes root, the doors for the gospel swing wide open.
I am eagerly preparing for our upcoming travel experience to Prague in August 2027. This journey goes far beyond seeing the breathtaking sights of the golden city. It is a specific invitation to walk alongside local believers, participate in prayer, and engage in meaningful conversations (1 Thessalonians 2:8).
Join Me in August 2027
Next August, we are embarking on a travel experience to Prague to do exactly that. This journey goes far beyond seeing the breathtaking sights of the golden city. It is an invitation to walk alongside local believers, participate in prayer, and engage in meaningful conversations.
Our goals for this trip are simple:
- Building Relationships: Engage with university students and local families through community outreach and genuine friendship.
- Supporting Local Believers: Encourage local congregations and church planters who are doing the slow, faithful work of nurturing new believers (Galatians 6:9).
- Cultural Connection: Experiencing the history of Prague while bringing the hope of the gospel to a post-Christian society.
- Return to our own churches and communities and invite them to join us in loving and supporting the Czech people.
I am praying for the team that will join me on this adventure. As I prayed about presenting this opportunity to my local church, God’s whisper to my spirit was clear. I did not hear an audible voice, but a knowing filled my spirit: This isn’t about a church; it is about THE church, and we are to invite Christ followers from around the United States to join this work.
