Now, you have to know I LOVE roller coasters. I can ride for hours and hours. Or at least I used to be able to.
This time I didn’t do as well. I think it was the food that got to me. Over the past six months, I’ve been trying to eat better. More salads and fresh fruit, less greasy food. I’m down 20 lbs this year which is wonderful!
Of course, theme parks aren’t known for their fresh fruits and veggies. One greasy cheeseburger, some fries, an ice cream cone (it was sugar-free ice cream even), and a few too many spins, and I was feeling ILL. (Do I look just a tiny bit green in the photo below?)
I thought of this again, when I was reading from Galatians 5 . . . (in the Amplified version):
Weaning off greasy food is similar to weaning off bad habits and past sins. Once you taste the good life, it’s hard to go back. Although sin may “taste” good for a while, my heart gets sick, my soul feels icky, and I’m ILL.
So, from now on I’m going to strive to live my new healthy lifestyle with eagerness. My body, soul, and spirit will thank me for it.
And hopefully next time I’ll be able to conquer whatever roller coasters are tossed my way!
