Stand All the Way Up with Sophie Hudson
I’m so excited to chat with Sophie Hudson on today’s episode.
I used to be someone who hated confrontation. Arguing was uncomfortable, and I worried stating my mind would make people mad. And then I became a mom of kids who needed me to fight FOR them. To go against labels and to find solutions. To not let people give me a “no” when my kids needed a “yes.”
I’ve learned through the years it was good to be strong and to stand up for those without a voice. I started looking around and paying attention. I started calling out injustice … even if it made me uncomfortable because what may be my “uncomfortable” might be completely life-changing for someone else.
And that’s what this episode is all about. This truly has been a year of HARD changes, and we can either wallow in self-pity or we can look around to see what others are facing. When we stand up, pay attention, and reach out … we often find that all the things we were concerned about don’t often see as big in the end. I know you’ll love laughing along with me and Sophie, even as we tackle tough topics.
Who is Sophie Hudson?
Sophie Hudson loves to laugh. She began writing her blog, “BooMama,” in November 2005, and she hopes that through her stories, women find encouragement and hope in the everyday, joy-filled moments of life. In addition to her blog, Sophie speaks regularly to groups across the country and co-hosts “The Big Boo Cast.” The author of four books, Sophie enjoys cheering like crazy at pretty much any live sporting event and also considers herself a Netflix overachiever. About the Book:
Whenever you face the hard stuff—the pieces and parts of life that keep you up at night, relentlessly reminding you that the “simple and easy” path is somehow a turn you’ve missed along the way —is your first instinct to try to make it all simply go away? You might wonder if it’s possible to just ignore it, or, better yet, to burn it all down.
During a particularly difficult stretch in her own life, Sophie learned that the Lord, through His Word and His people, has already provided all that we need to get up, straighten up, and stand all the way up.
This book is a collection of stories full of humor, sass, and spiritual insight, revealing our God who teaches you to stand up for yourself, stand up for the people you love, stand up for the people who can’t, and stand up for the Kingdom.
Walk It Out Scripture
But you, Lord, are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high. Psalm 3:3
