My guests for #WALKITOUT 002 are Academy Award® nominee Timothy Reckart and The Star‘s executive-producer DeVon Franklin. You can read more about my exciting trip to Hollywood and my amazing opportunity to interview the cast of The Star here.

Timothy Reckart is currently making his feature directing debut on The Star. Timothy first drew attention with his thesis film at the National Film & Television School in the U.K., Head Over Heels, about a long-married couple who have literally grown apart, with the wife living on the ceiling of their house and her husband living on the floor. Head Over Heels had a very successful run in festivals, which ultimately brought the film an Oscar® nomination and an Annie Award win for Best Student Film. Timothy is a graduate of Harvard University with a degree in History & Literature. He has also obtained a Master’s Degree in Directing Animation from the National Film and Television School.

I interviewed Timothy at a roundtable event with four other women.

For the second interview, I interviewed DeVon Franklin over the phone. (Okay, the truth is I was really on my cellphone sitting outside McDonalds. The interview was in between picking up my kids from therapy and dropping off Maria at work. My daughter Maria was inside McDonalds watching the kids in the play areas so I could talk with DeVon.

The interview is short and sweet, and I cover a lot of things. The Star, of course. But I also cover his new book The Hollywood Commandments, which I’m also excited about.

The Hollywood Commandments does what no other book of its kind has done before: teaches how to combine spiritual principles with secular strategies to create long-lasting and sustainable success. Basically DeVon is showing how the truths of the Bible—when you stick to them—bring success and peace … even to those in Hollywood.

With all that’s happening today in Hollywood, with the revelation of the inappropriate, sexual misconduct happening in the film and television industry I wanted you to hear DeVon’s heart.

You can listen to the show below!

And of course, I would love if you would share with your friends.
