Do you have part of your story that you’ve held back? Maybe you’re scared to share a part of your life because you made a mistake. You feel shame, you feel guilt, you’re worried about what other people will say. I have had many of those stories in my life. I had an abortion at fifteen and for the longest time, I wanted to hide that — even from my closest friends. I was afraid that if anyone found out, they would hate me. God really wants to bring us freedom. He wants us to walk in the fullness that is Him, and in His love. It’s the guilt and shame that hold us back. I just love when people find freedom and are able to share their stories.
Kate Battistelli is an author, blogger, speaker, vlogger, and former Broadway actress. Last year on the podcast, after having to reschedule our conversation, Kate opened up and shared a part of her story that she had never before shared publically. We both know that is the reason why the first recording didn’t work. Since then, Kate has been able to open up and tell her story freely. And she shares it in her new book The God Dare: Will You Chose to Believe the Impossible. I love that God will use even a messed up podcast interview for us to take a step to be brave for doing what he dares asks us to do.
