Your husband? Hopefully.
Your kids? Yes.
God. YES!
What about the stuff you do in your daily life? Can you honestly say you’re following your passions?
This is a quote from Debbie Macomber’s book Knit Together. If you haven’t read it I highly recommend it. It’s about Debbie’s journey to becoming a NY Times Best-selling author. The thing I loved the most was seeing Debbie’s heart for God.
“Passion shouldn’t always be equated with fun. But if what you’re doing doesn’t spur you to experience joy or a sense of accomplishment, or provoke something inside you that makes you want to keep going, it’s time to take a step back and reexamine what you’re doing and whether the purpose you’re pursuing is really the purpose God has in mind.”
If you take a step back and examine your pursuits, what do you find?
Think about the things you do day-to-day. Are there things you’re doing because you didn’t want to say no? Are there things you could pass off to someone else in order to pursue your passion?
I can’t tell you I LOVE 100% of my moments writing. Or LOVE 100% the business part of writing. But I’m passionate about spreading God’s Word through words. I love it! How about you?

I am passionate about reading and my blog. I think at least once a week about how blessed I am to be doing what I’m doing. I eventually want to have my book published, but in the mean time I get lots of free books in the mail, and I get to bless my library with them. I give books to family and friends when a topic strikes to their heart. I LOVE reviewing books, and I’ve become passionate about it.
Passionate about the laundry I should be doing instead, not so much. 🙂
My passion is taking pictures of my kids. My daughter loves to draw and write (especially dry erase!)and my son loves playing video games.
I take pictures when they are least expecting it so I can get a natural response, not a stiff smile.
My passion is reading, writing, reading, knitting, reading….
Thanks for drawing my name as a book winner.
My passion is reading, writing reviews, visiting with my online friends, science, and family.:)
Thank you so much about sharing your passions. I love to see how you are following your passions, too!
I am passionate about life in general.God has brought me through so very much over 46 years on this earth.Specifically I am passionate about God,my family, books, blogging, writing, nature.
I am glad you asked because it made me think about it! I really like people. Can you be passionate about people?! Cindi

Cindi,
Totally! Jesus was passionate about people. I love meeting and connecting with people too. Often when I’m watching TV with my family and a city is mentioned, I say, “Oh, I know …., she’s from there.” My kids say, “Mom, you know someone everywhere.” Well, not quite, but that’s a good goal!
Where is your favorite place to meet people?
I don’t know. I’m very shy by nature, so it’s hard for me to meet new people. Maybe church?
My biggest passion is probably books which of course means reading and since I started posting reviews to a blog last fall I’ve discovered thats a ball too (of course sometimes the free books are a factor in that fun).
And I can’t forget to mention hanging out with my closest friends.
As for meeting people it depends – I do like hanging out with my friends at the local Barnes or Borders (yes books again – LOL) or any mall that has a See’s Candies store (another passion of mine – chocolate) because they have free samples.
Give me a good book and some chocolate and I’m good to go.
Melissa
